Hair Removal

Although electrolysis can permanently remove hair, it is an extremely slow and painful method. The Cutera laser is a safe and effective way to reduce unwanted body and facial hair. It is specifically designed to remove unwanted hair faster, with less discomfort, and more reliably than any other method available today.

How does it work?

The laser light emitted by the Charleston Aesthetic Laser Center's Cutera laser is the optimum wavelength to be absorbed by the pigment located in hair follicles. The laser pulses for a fraction of a second, disabling numerous follicles. This will eliminate or significantly impede the hair's regrowth.

Who can get laser hair removal?

Our procedure is effective for all skin types with the excellent results on dark and tanned skin. The Cutera laser has the best range of parameters for both fine and coarse hair and with no recovery, is ideal for year-round treatments.

What makes the Cutera laser different from other hair removal lasers?

The Cutera laser is the most powerful hair removal instrument on the market, which means that it’s able to target the finest hair. The laser's longer wavelengths allow it to be used safely and effectively on patients with light or dark skin.

Are there any restrictions on my activity after treatment?

Following the treatment, you can return to your normal activities right away, but some redness may occur. The use of sunscreen is recommended on any treated areas exposed to the sun.

Is treatment permanent?

In most cases, a reasonable degree of permanent hair removal can only be achieved after several treatments. The number of treatments will depend on each patient's individual response to laser surgery, and the amount of hair to be removed. Remember that the goal may not be total hair removal. Most patients are happy with a reasonable degree of hair reduction.
